“Read our perspective on the most important aspects of digital transformation: people, processes, structure and technology.“

People

Attracting and retaining digital talent is crucial in today's competitive business landscape. To achieve this, we focus on three key pillars: building a diverse international team, providing clear direction and autonomy, and prioritizing personal development.

Clear direction and autonomy

We believe in providing clear direction and fostering autonomy to create high-performing teams. To achieve this, we implement methodologies such as Objectives and Key Results (OKR) and Scaling Up, which bridge the gap to digital and make work fun for employees. Our focus is on promoting maximum accountability and autonomy.

Personal development

Nurturing talent through personal development is essential for creating real value within an organization. We have experience in guiding employees on their digital journey and facilitating personal growth by offering a best-in-class talent development program. This program includes a best-of-breed performance management platform, a feedback cycle, a personal development budget, and transparent compensation and promotion criteria. By nurturing talent, we create a more motivated and engaged workforce.

Attracting digital talent where needed

We create an international team culture that enables us to attract the best talent from around the world. To achieve this, we use English as the primary language, facilitate relocation, locate our offices in attractive locations, offer competitive compensation plans, and implement efficient recruitment processes.

Structure

It’s vital to structure the organization appropriately to execute any digital transformation successfully. Digital maturity plays an important part in determining the current structure of an organization. Companies can be in one of four phases:

1

IT and Digital as staff function

IT and digital are seen as staff functions in the organization and are entirely separate from the business. The organization sees IT and digital as a cost center rather than a strategic asset.

2

Digital as an internal agency

Organizations recognize the importance of digital but organize it as an internal agency that supports the business. The digital agency sets priorities by itself, sometimes leading to conflicts with the business.

3

Digital capabilities embedded in business lines

Digital capabilities are embedded in the business lines, with central guidance and support. The company sees the importance of digital and has started integrating it into its core business operations.

4

Fully embedded Digital Teams

Business unit leadership is as much digital as it is more traditionally operated. The company has fully embedded digital transformation into its core business operations, and business unit leaders can self-organize fully.

quote

“Momentum has proven to be an invaluable companion in navigating our challenging digital journey. Their support spans every aspect, from formulating a solid strategy to seamless execution. They transcend the conventional roles of a consultant or agency, embracing a deeper level of commitment to our organization's success.”

Way of working

By putting the user at the center of everything we do, using design-driven development, and approaching tasks with an agile mindset, we can create effective solutions that meet the needs of users and even exceed their expectations.

User-centered and design-driven approach

Our approach to digital solutions prioritizes the user. Using journey mapping, we gain insights into their processes, pain points, and opportunities for improvement. This allows us to create effective solutions that exceed their expectations. Design-driven development ensures that solutions are tailored to user needs, saving time and money by identifying issues early.

Strategy and execution

To achieve success in strategy execution, you don't need to start from scratch. Instead, take advantage of established best practices. By using proven methods like the Scale-up framework and Objectives and Key Results (OKR) methodology, you can save time and increase your chances of success. These methods have been tested by successful companies and are effective for helping businesses succeed.

Agile mindset

Approaching the task with an agile mindset is crucial when implementing digital solutions. This means adapting to changing user needs and utilizing Scrum methodology for regular review and feedback cycles. Solutions are never complete; you must monitor them continuously to adapt to users' needs.

Technology

Technology is critical to the success of an organization, even though it's never a goal in itself. When using technology, it's more important to avoid making the wrong choices than to strive for perfection. We have developed a strategic approach to design and manage software systems effectively.

1

Best-of-breed strategy

One approach we think works really well, is the best-of-breed strategy. It involves selecting and implementing the best solution for each business process or functional area. The best-of-breed approach offers several advantages, such as greater flexibility, higher quality, and more focused support.

2

Best-of-suite strategy

For smaller processes, we believe best-of-suite solutions may be more appropriate. Also: before migrating solutions, it’s crucial we consider all aspects of the new solution, such as employee/customer happiness, time-saving, and effectiveness. To find possible solutions for the challenges, we use sources such as G2, Gardner, Stack Overflow, Forrester, and references, without excluding any others.

3

Hybrid technology strategy

To select solutions for business lines, we recommend a hybrid technology strategy, combining best-of-breed SaaS solutions for generic processes, best-of-breed low- or no-code solutions for unique internal processes, and custom solutions for unique external processes. By combining these solutions, we can build an efficient and effective technology infrastructure.

What services we offer

We start by creating a shared digital strategy with clear, defined use cases and their potential value. Next, we take the co-ownership of one or more use cases and the specified outcomes.
